"Coyote" from 「第6フォルマント」/"The 6th Formant"

Narration
.
Narration: (Romanized Japanese)
Haruka nemoto ni hibiku ono, hyaku tabi. Koyoote ga nige nobotta taiboku wa kiri taosa-re, tanima ni kakaru hashi to natta. Totemo furui hanashi da.
Shikashi, kono hito-tachi ga nige nobotta ki wa taoreru basho ga nai. Mawari wa sude ni kaihatsu zumi. Sekai no goui ni soguwa-na-katta kono hito-tachi wa, mou noboru saki mo nai. Te wo hirogete iru otoko ni tazunete mita. ”Naze nobotta no ka?" to. Otoko wa itta. "Shippai wa osorete iru ga, koukishin wa osorete inai."
Sono toki, ano koe ga kikoeta. "Harudin Doomu e youkoso."

Translation of the narration (English)
The massive tree on top of which the coyote escaping from the village folk climbed was cut down with a hundred times of chopping by an axe far down on the foot of the tree. The tree was downed to make a bridge over the vale . It is a very old story.
However, the tree these people here escaping from something have climbed has nowhere to fall if it is cut down. Everywhere around the tree has been developed as modern city. These people who didn't go along with the agreement in the world have no more higher places to climb on. I asked the man on the tree, spreading his arms, "Why did you climb this tree?" The man said, "I am afraid of failure, but I am not afraid of having curiosity."
Just then, I heard the voice, "Welcome to Haldyn Dome."

(English translation of lyrics)
-
1)The drought has lasted
For 100 months already
The dust from the razzmatazz rain dance
Cannot wash our lives
-
The shadow of the harsh wind
That catches us unprepared is the Coyote
His gleaming eyes reflect
Our last water jar
-
(Till the end of our village's life) It's only two steps and a half away
(Every last drop) He will drink up!
-
★Coyote, coyote, Woo
  Coyote, coyote, Woo
  Coyote, coyote, Woo
  Coyote, coyote, Woo
-
2)We chasing him, he being chased,
We trample down a million grasses
The wind blows, making the noise,
Along the first "trail" made in history
-
Down the road is the Vale of Dizziness
No going further or coming back
-
Oh my Lord, oh Buddha, oh Maria,
He ululates and climbes up the big tree
-
(Its trunk is about) Two footsteps and a half wide
(Its high trunk) Pokes the clouds in the sky
-
★Repeat
-
3)Hearing the axe chopping the trunk a hundred times far down at the bottom of tree
Coyote cries, "Farewell, the clouds."
-
The tree is downed to make a bridge over the vale
We cross it to discover a lake with our exhausted eyes
-
Coyote floating in the lake, running out his life
Is torn limb from limb at last
-
(A person's share is about) Two pieces and a half
(For the village's supper) It is served as the main dish
-
★Repeat
★Repeat
-
(Speech)
"Well, that's about it.
After that, how many times have we counted centuries?
You have only progressed two steps and a half.
You should understand by now how the drought happens.
Run away more wisely next time."

.
★Repeat
.

.
★Repeat
